Honorary Professor Lynda Yates
Professor Lynda Yates taught English as a foreign or second language in various settings and countries, including the U.K., France, Egypt and Armenia. She has since focussed on teacher education at all levels ranging from the CELTA and initial teacher training to Masters courses and PhD supervision. Her ten-year involvement in the AMEP Research Centre fuelled a strong commitment to translating research into TESOL practice and led her to a range of research interests in adult language learning inside and outside the classroom. Projects have included the learning and teaching of spoken language, particularly pragmatics and pronunciation, intercultural communication, teacher professional development and international education. She is currently Honorary Professor of Linguistics at Macquarie University.
