Bio

Currently Leading Vocational Teacher (TESOL)at TAFE South Bank in Brisbane, Queensland, Dr Snezhana Chernova is a fully registered Queensland Secondary School English Teacher. She was born in Russia and immigrated to Australia in 2017. Her previous occupation was a Senior University Lecturer in Linguistics at Moscow State Institute of International Relations. She has a PhD degree in Philology. Her research interests include but are not limited to studying lingvo-semiotical characteristics of comical absurdity, identifying basic functions of buffoonery, and investigating heterogeneous genres of entertainment discourse. She is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy programme at University of Tasmania. Her current research topic is “Using Technology to Enhance the Learning of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Students”.
