For the first time, the NEAS Conference is heading beyond Sydney, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring this landmark event to Melbourne, at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). This move reflects NEAS’ commitment to reaching and serving our membership nationwide, and globally, celebrating the diversity and strength of the English language teaching community.

The 2026 NEAS Conference theme, Believe, invites us to explore the power of belief in the role that education plays in the lives of our students and our own.
For some, belief emerges through the confidence learners gain as they find their voice. For others, it’s reflected in the shared purpose of colleagues or the conviction that education can open pathways to inclusion and opportunity. Within the NEAS Quality Assurance Framework belief becomes action, turning aspiration into practice.
At NEAS 2026, we will explore how belief sustains and strengthens our profession. Through keynote presentations, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities, the program will reaffirm the role of English language education as a bridge to both purpose and possibility.

- How does belief in our purpose as educators influence the way we design learning experiences and support our students’ journeys?
- In what ways can belief in collaboration – between teachers, institutions, and learners – enhance quality and inclusivity in English language education?
- As the world evolves, how do we continue to believe in education as a force for transformation and hope?
