Event Theme: Caring for Young Students

This Community of Practice (CoP) session focuses on the topic of Caring for Young Students in English language learning contexts. The session will consider how care and responsibility for younger learners can be embedded across different aspects of an education provider’s operations.

Key areas for discussion include compliance and welfare responsibilities, such as appropriate recruitment practices, duty of care, and reporting obligations. Attention will also be given to how curriculum design can better reflect the developmental, emotional, and educational needs of young students, and how educators can support student engagement and wellbeing through day-to-day teaching practices.

The session is open to teachers, academic managers, and other staff involved in supporting young learners, and will provide an opportunity to reflect on current approaches, share experiences, and explore practical strategies for improvement.
