NEAS congratulates the management of Deakin University English Language Institute (DUELI) on the completion of the NEAS Self-Assessment phase of quality review in 2025. In fulfilling this stage of quality review, DUELI has demonstrated a strong commitment to continuous improvement, particularly by:
- responding to the changing context by considering the impact of student access to AI tools on the validity of assessment instruments used in DUELI courses,
- ensuring students are supported in the most appropriate ways within and outside the classroom, and
- taking action to ensure the professional development of their staff.
Continuous improvement of this sort is a mark of a quality institution. NEAS looks forward to hearing about the outcomes of the action DUELI has taken in the next phase of quality review and encourages DUELI to share their learnings widely.
