NEAS Congratulates University of Western Australia Centre for English Language Teaching on the Renewal of its NEAS Quality Endorsement.

University of Western Australia Centre for English Teaching (UWA CELT) is supported by an experienced management team overseeing academic quality, operations, welfare and international engagement. The Centre enrols around 340 students aged 17–40 from a wide range of countries and delivers programs including LCE, EAP, IELTS Preparation and the Academic English & Study Skills Bridging Course. Students receive clear course and welfare information through orientation and the Student Handbook.

Teachers are allocated according to qualifications, undergo annual appraisals, and contribute to structured PD totalling at least 25 CPD points per year. Regular student surveys and validated weekly/summative assessments support continuous quality improvement.

Student support is a strong focus, with Advisors offering pastoral care—including weekly welfare checks for under-18s—and access to wider UWA wellbeing services. Orientation provides an engaging, community-building start to study. NEAS recommends displaying the Complaints Procedure and ensuring a 24/7 emergency contact for under-18 students.

The Centre operates within UWA’s risk and WHS frameworks, including regular drills and safety training. For the 2026 Quality Review, NEAS advises preparing teacher qualification lists (A109), a 12-month PD plan, and evidence of recent performance appraisals.
